The following day was my 32nd birthday. Chris couldn't get the day off of work, but we were able to spend time with each other in the evening. He brought me a beautiful bouquet of ivory roses.
I spent the day of my birthday at my sister's house with Jenna, Mommie, Charlotte, and Chloe. Charlotte's eyes lit up as soon as she saw my birthday cake. We had a wonderful time. The following day, I had to have a Ganglion Nerve Block done to help alleviate my lower abdominal pain. My goal is to try to get my chronic pain under better control. I'm anxious to get medical clearance from all of my doctors so that Chris and I can proceed with IVF. After over two years of infertility and a miscarriage, the uncertainty and grief of not having a baby to hold in our arms and raise lovingly is almost too heartbreaking to bear. I am trying to stay positive and put this in God's hands. I know I am very blessed that we have options to expand our family, including insurance coverage for IVF and other fertility procedures, as well as two very generous offers for egg donation and/or surrogacy.
The Nerve Block went better than I expected, I didn't have any numbness, muscle weakness, or problems walking after it, like I did the last time. I just felt a little woozy from the anesthesia and soreness at the site of the Nerve Block. I have to have the procedure repeated next week.
The rest of the week went pretty well. Saturday we got together at Garibaldi's for pizza and cake. We had about 10 to 15 people there, and it was great spending time with family and friends. After pizza, Chris, Shannon, Rob, Brandy, Beth, and I went to sing karaoke. It was an awesome time. My favorite part of the night was when Chris and I sang to each other.
